About

ABOUT ME

I'm Kevin Kennedy and I am a life and addiction recovery coach.  My passion is helping people break free from what's holding them back -- whether it's alcohol or other substance use, anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, issues with aging parents, or just feeling stuck in life.

I studied both psychology and political science in undergrad and I am a credentialed addictions counselor in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.  Nearly a decade of working in both inpatient and outpatient dual-diagnosis treatment centers has given me deep expertise and experience walking alongside people facing some of life's hardest battles.  What I came to love most was working one-on-one with clients—helping them find clarity, freedom, and a new sense of direction.

MY STORY

My path has been both personal and professional.  After graduating college, I moved to Washington, D.C. and spent nearly a decade in fast-paced, high-pressure roles in the Federal Government and the private sector.  During that time, I faced my own struggles with alcohol, which ultimately became the turning point in my life. With the right support, I not only found recovery but also discovered a deep passion for mental and behavioral health and addiction recovery.

I believe we are all far more resilient than we realize, especially when given a compassionate, honest, and supportive space to heal and grow. Coaching allows me to combine my lived experience with years of professional training to support clients in setting goals, developing coping strategies, and moving toward a life that feels free and authentic.

If work, life, substance use, or negative thought or behavior patterns are leaving you feeling trapped or held back, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you take steps toward freedom—whether that means regaining it, or discovering it for the very first time.
